Day Four: Adding Choices (even when there aren’t any!)

So far in our challenge we have explored connection, reasoning and motivation! Today is all about empowering our youngsters while boosting their listening and cooperation through choices. There will be plenty of times when kiddos do not have a choice in what is happening. Taking a bath or doing their homework (for example) are daily activities that simply must happen. However, you will know by now that the more we force something onto someone else the harder it becomes for them to cooperate and regulate. This is where so many power struggles often occur: when children do not have a choice. But, what if I told you there was a solution?
